Scentescence wax melts review

Scentescence wax melts review

I was kindly sent a sample pack of wax melts from the amazing Zoe at scentescence wax melts. I tried them over a period of time and I will give my honest opinion.

So i received a pack which contained rhubarb & custard, strawberry Bon Bon, caramel vanilla latte and lollypop. There was 2 of each scent so they lasted a very long time. I used an electric wax melt to melt all of these as I don’t have a candle one.

Rhubarb & custard was gorgeous!! It was strong scented and smelt exactly like rhubarb & custard sweets. It filled my bungalow very quickly with the scent and lasted a long time. I got at least 5 uses out of each melt. The melt was lovely looking, it was a yellow parcel with glitter on the top.

Next is the lollypop scent. This smelt amazing in the pack but when it melted it wasn’t as strong as I hoped it would be. It still smelt gorgeous but I found it didn’t fill the bungalow as well. Again it was very pretty looking it was a pink start shaped melt. The smell didn’t seem to last as many melts either maybe 2/3 times.

Next is caramel vanilla latte. This was by far my favourite scent. It was strong scented and filled the bungalow quickly. It smelt just like a caramel vanilla latte would. Personally my favourite flavour of coffee!!!! It lasted many melts, it was about 5 times. It looked stunning, it was shaped like a small brown parcel.

Last but not least it’s the strawberry Bon Bon wax melt. This was gorgeous! It smelt quite sweet but not too much. It smelt like a bag of strawberry Bon Bons would. It filled the bungalow, but didn’t last as many melts. I found the scent wore off after 4 uses. It was lovely looking, it was a pink heart with glitter on the top.

All of the wax melts I was sent to sample were lovely. They all looked lovely and would make wonderful gifts. They all lasted quite a few uses so you definitely get your money’s worth. They are very affordable so give them a try!

Mothers day 2017

Mothers day 2017

Mothers day this year was completely different to any other year in many different ways.

First of all we are now married so we bought son & daughter in law and daughter & son in law cards to our mums.

Secondly my mum actually had mothers day off work! My mum is a carer and normally works every sunday. She recently changed her working hours, so we got to spend time with mum!

Third thing is I was thinking about my miscarriage. In the card shops they had cards that said ‘from the bump’. I was a little sad as I just thought what could have been. On days like mothers day you cant help but think about the sad event.

This year we decided that we would cook a roast dinner for my mum this year as she was off work. While were waiting for dinner to cook, we showed mum our honeymoon photos.
We went to aldi to get all the food. We bought a specially selected roast beef joint, potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, green beans, specially selected Yorkshire puddings, profiteroles and double cream. All this came to a total of ¬£14.44!!! In any other supermarket this would have probably cost a lot more. We have definitely converted to aldi as the food quality is brilliant and so cheap. We have found that the dates of the products are also a lot longer than we are used to. If you haven’t tried doing a food shop in aldi yet I would say try it and see how much you save!

In the evening we went round Michael’s parents. We spent some time looking at our holiday photos and just spending time together. They are having a lot of work done to their house at the moment, so it was nice to see how far along it is now and what is left to do.

All in all it was nice to spend some quality time with our mums! They do so much for us and it was nice to treat them.

Hope you had a lovely day too
